Technical implementation

Our web server is operated by the Bayerisches Landesamt für Statistik und Datenverarbeitung (Bavarian State Office for Statistics and Data Processing).

When you access this or other web pages, you transmit data to our web server via your browser. The following data is recorded during a connection for communication between your browser and our web server:

  • Date and time of the request
  • Name of the requested file
  • Page from where the file was requested
  • Access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
  • Browser and operating system used
  • Full IP address of the requesting computer
  • Data volume transferred.
For technical security reasons, in particular for defense against attempted attacks against our web server, we store this data and delete it again after seven days at the latest. This data is only processed for this purpose and - anonymized - for statistical purposes; they are not compared with other databases or handed over to third parties, neither in full nor in part.


When you access this Internet presence, we store cookies (small files) that remain valid for the duration of your visit to the website on your hard drive. We use them exclusively to identify you during your visit to our website, or to grant you access to certain services. Most browsers accept the use of cookies by default; however, you can deactivate this setting for the current session or permanently by changing your browser settings. After your visit, these so-called session cookies will be automatically deleted from your hard drive.

Active components

In the information portal of the District Government of the Upper Palatinate, active components like JavaScript, Java applets or ActiveX controls are used for certain applications. You can deactivate this function by changing your browser settings. However, if you do this, you might experience limitations to the user experience.

Evaluation of user behavior (web tracking systems)

We do not use software to evaluate user behavior.

Collection of other data

On our website, you can enter personal data (name, email address), e.g. in our contact form. This data is only used for the indicated purpose and will be deleted immediately after execution.

Electronic mail (email)

Information that you send to us unencrypted via electronic mail (email) might possibly also be read by third parties during transmission. We generally cannot verify your identity, either, so we do not know who is behind an email address. Legally sound communication is thus not guaranteed for email communication. Like many email providers, we use filters against unwanted advertisements ("spam filters") that, in rare cases, falsely identify regular emails automatically as unwanted advertisement and delete them. We also automatically delete emails containing malware ("viruses").

If you wish to send us data worthy of protection, we suggest encrypting and electronically signing it to avoid unauthorized access and tampering during transmission; you can also send us the data conventionally by mail.
